Few construction jobs require as much precision, discipline, adherence to complex regulations and attention to safety and detail than those connected to a busy international airport.
The Piedmont Triad International Airport (PTIA) is located in Greensboro, is the state’s third largest commercial airport, and served over 1.7 million passengers in 2017. It is home to aircraft manufacturer Honda Jet.
Carolina Environmental Contracting, Inc. (CEC) was recently awarded an improvement project to PTIA’s infield areas adjacent to the runway accessing Honda Jet.
With a focus on drainage improvements, the CEC team regraded existing detention ponds, reset inlets, and improved drainage capabilities. Fifteen thousand cubic yards of borrow material was added to the pond slopes to minimize the slope gradient for improved safety compliance for the FAA.
Airport security, erosion control, dust control, and safety were paramount on this project due to the close proximity to all secure and active airport sites and strict FAA regulations.
This was not the first CEC project at PTIA. In the summer of 2017, CEC upgraded the storm water infrastructure adjacent to taxiways. Check out the details here.
CEC fully understands requirements of projects and maintains strict commitment to quality, schedules and budgets. Let us work with you on your next storm water and drainage project. We will bring those commitments to you.Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
